Raisins: Safe for Dogs and Cats?

Raisins carry the same acute kidney failure risk as grapes for dogs, concentrated into a smaller serving, and even a couple can be dangerous.

Toxic principle: Tartaric acid

Watch for

  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • lethargy
  • excessive thirst
  • abdominal pain
  • reduced or no urine production as kidney failure progresses
